In this watercolour exhibition, Guy Gruwier — invited to the International Watercolour Masters 2026 in England — presents his profound passion for light. With over 35 years of experience in watercolour painting, Guy is no newcomer to the field. He has previously exhibited successfully both in Belgium and abroad.
His success in this medium is the result of years of dedication and an ongoing search for essence: What is light? What is colour? What is shadow?
This exhibition is a joint initiative by Golden River Studios and the Poperinge Watercolour Club. The club was founded six years ago by Robert Toussaint, a true local of Poperinge, and is where Guy enthusiastically teaches around twenty students.
Each year, the club participates in Atelier in Beeld, where activities are presented and demonstrated. Visitors can not only enjoy the artworks but also have a chat with the organisers while enjoying a drink and a small bite.
There will be two exhibitions:
- May 2 & 3: featuring works by the students of the Poperinge Watercolour Club
- May 9 & 10: featuring works exclusively by Guy Gruwier
You are warmly invited to visit both exhibitions.
