Winter scapes

Why and how can we paint white snow on a white peace of paper ? That is not a contradiction, because even snowy parts contain a lot of shade colours (sometimes greyish or blueish) or they can be interrupted by objects on the ground sticking out of the fluffy snow tepistry. It is very satisfying to use “Waterford Xtra White” (Saunders Waterford) cotton rag, because it is one of the most “white” papers available, brightening up the otherwise dull hues.
