How to paint movement in watercolour

What will you learn?

You will learn how to capture movement in a watercolour, emphasizing action and enhancing the image’s dynamism. You will also learn how to create this dynamism using the wet-on-wet technique, which is characteristic of watercolour painting.

How does it work?

You’ll be asked to choose an image yourself (a passing cyclist, a speeding F1 car, a speed skater, a skier, etc.) and bring a sketch of it to the workshop, which you’ll then develop into a watercolour under guidance. The emphasis is on the dynamic lines in the image, which you will later translate into color. This is done layer by layer and wet-on-wet.

This workshop is suitable for beginners to slightly advanced students.
